George Samuel Clason was born on November 7, 1874, in Louisiana, Missouri. After studying at the University of Nebraska, he served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War. Embarking on a long career in the publishing industry, he founded the Clason Map Company in Denver, Colorado, and published the first road maps for the United States and Canada. In 1926, he began publishing and popularizing a series of pamphlets focused on thrift and financial success. In these works, he illustrated his concepts through stories set against the backdrop of ancient Babylon. These pamphlets were distributed in large numbers to banks and insurance companies, gaining popularity among millions of people. The most famous among them was *The Richest Man in Babylon*, which also serves as the title of this book. These "Babylonian tales" have since become an inspiring work of modern literature.
