It is only too well - known how a dictionary is absolutely indispensable for any language for if alone lists ( usually in alphabetical order ) and explains the words of a language or gives equivalent words in another language. The richness of vocabulary, the characteristic features and nuances of words, the different meanings of the same words - all these can come to be understood only through a dictionary. which is why scholars and experts insist that every home must have at least one dictionary for reference and enlightenment. It is well to remember in this context that it was Goethe, the celebrated poet and critic, who said that any one who had no knowledge of a language other than his own would remain some.
