The present anthology contains short stories which originally appeared in the regional language of India and later translated into English. These stories reflect the life of people living in different parts of India. Students reading the stories may get exposed to the ethos of the typical Indian life and the creative excellence of the Indian writers. It is hoped that these stories will stimulate the students to read such stories in future. The editors wish to express their deep gratitude to Dr. V.
